James Louie Vanderford

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for James Louie Vanderford, 71, of Commerce who died on Sunday at Athens Regional Hospital. Born in Gwinnett Co., GA, he was the son of the late Joseph Otis Vanderford and the late Ethel Lee Holcomb Vanderford. Mr. Vanderford was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of the residence, Willie Parker Vanderford; children, James Todd and Michelle Vanderford of Lawrenceville, Dan Steven and Diane Vanderford of Commerce; Robbie and Curt Wilson and Tracy and Scott Grisham, both of Commerce; grandchildren, Ginger, Natalie, Jessica, Cassidy Kelly, Kaitlyn, Gabrielle, and Dylan; sisters, Louise Wells of Lawrenceville, Shirley Faye Bennett of Snellville; sisters-in-law, Shirley Ann Vanderford of Lawrenceville, Shirley Carey of Commerce and Nancy Maynard of Commerce.

Funeral services for James Louie Vanderford will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 AM from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Douglas Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9 PM. Mr. Vanderford will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes prior to the service.
