Emma Elizabeth Page Welborn, 86, of Clayton, Georgia passed away January 18, 2009 at Mountain View Nursing Home.
Betty, as she was affectionately known, was born in Rabun County May 11, 1922, the daughter of the late Edward Page and Roxie Lillian Moore Page. She was a member of King Memorial Presbyterian Church in the Persimmon community. She was the widow of Dock Welborn. She was a member of the Persimmon Womens club for many years and in her later years was an active participant at the Rabun County Senior Center. She was always a loving mother to her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, one brother Bill Page, and one sister, Ruth Tucker.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kay Pitts and David of Clayton, Lil Garrett and Roy of Clayton, Susan Shook and Bennie of Young Harris; Wanda Henslee of Clayton; one son and daughter-in-law, Kermit Welborn and Tincy of Clayton; one sister Kathleen Brown of Gainesville; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday January 19, 2009 at Beck Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday January 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Teddy King and Rev. Glenville Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Persimmon Community Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Kay Pitts on Persimmon Rd.
