Mark Millis Golly

Mark Millis Golly, 56, of Cumming, GA died at his home on January 7, 2009. A native of LaGrange, IL he was the son of the late Perry Wallace Golly and Jane Lynn Golly. His brother, David Herbert Golly also predeceased him.
Mr. Golly grew up in Jacksonville, FL where he graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1970. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in 1974. Mark was in the insurance business for 31 years in such positions as underwriting manager, marketing manager, product development manager and technology specialist and trainer.
Mark enjoyed cooking, computer games and anything connected with computers. He was also an avid photographer, golfer and more recently had taken up sailing.
He cared for and managed the affairs of his older brother, David, who had major medical problems and was disabled for seven years. Mark was loved and respected by all with whom he came in contact and could be described as a true Southern Gentleman. Simply said, he was just a great guy.
Mark is survived by his brother, Peter Mitchell (Kristie Atkins) Golly of Seattle, WA.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 16, 2009 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Dwight Ogier will officiate.
