Whitfield funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest announces the death of Mr. Frank E. Curtis, age 88, of Demorest who died Thursday, January 08, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Curtis was born May 14, 1920 in Clay County, North Carolina to the late Clyde Worth and Flora Martha Curtis. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran, having served in England and France during World War II. Mr. Curtis was a member of the Demorest Church of God. He retired from Eithicon (formerly known as Lumite and then Chicopee Manufacturing) with 44 years of service.
Survivos include his wife, Dorothy W. Curtis, Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Barnes, Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Joan Curtis, Demorest; sisters, Louise Tucker, Chamblee; Wilma Roach, Monks Corner, South Carolina; brother, Mark Curtis, Hayesville, North Carolina; granddaughter and her husband, Allyson and Ron Marshall, Macon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 11, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest with Reverend William Cox officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 Monday, January 12, 2009 from the Hayesville United Church Cemetery in Hayesville, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 Pm Saturday, January 10, 2009.
