Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming announcs the death of Mr. Lester Emory Dashner, Jr., age 65, of Dawsonville who passed away Thursday, January 08, 2009.
Mr. Dashner was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Mary Dashner.
He was a member of the War Hill Christian Fellowship and a member of the American Legion. He served eight years in the United States Navy with his tours including Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War.
Mr. Dashner was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. He loved his family and friends, life, and had a passion for music, playing drums.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Judy Dashner of Dawsonville; children, Jennifer and Robbie Ringo of Texas; Paul and Deborah Tuggle of Tallapoosa, Georgia; Jonathan Dashner of Cumming; Matthew and Beth Dashner of Acworth; six grandchildren; one brother, one sister; and a number of relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 11, 2009 in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, with Reverend Rodney Allen and Reverend Don Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Monday, January 12, 2009.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2009.
