Evelyn Waldrip Purgason

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Evelyn Waldrip Purgason, 72, of Commerce who died Tuesday at BJC Hospital in Commerce. Born in Gwinnett County, she was the daughter of the late Minor Waldrip and the late Annie Bell Mayfield Waldrip and was the widow of Jesse William Purgason. She was also receded in death by a daughter, Tina Purgason, 5 brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include children, Jesse Purgason of Commerce and Kathy Purgason of Franklin; brothers, James Waldrip of Lilburn and Nathaniel Waldrip of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Jason Purgason and Christina Purgason; great-grandchildren, Ansley Purgason, Kayli Purgason, Dalton Purgason, Logan Purgason and Hunter Purgason; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Evelyn Waldrip Purgason will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Spruil and Rev. Perry Smith officiating. Interment will be conducted on Friday at 3 p.m. from the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Roosterville, GA in Heard County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m.
