Christine Dowie Moore

Christine Dowie Moore, born October 21, 1975, of Cumming, GA died January 4, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Christy was a loving mother of two beautiful children, Sean, age 9 and Molly, age 7. She was Case Manager for Lutheran Services of Georgia serving medically fragile children and their families. She was a devoted mother, friend, and activist. Christy had a gift for unconditional love that will be missed greatly by those she touched.

A graduate of Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC, Christy had a tremendous caring sense for environmental and social justice. She worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone was treated fairly and felt a sense of community. She was a devoted volunteer to the Boy Scouts of Forsyth County, Keep Forsyth County Beautiful, the Junior Service League of Forsyth County, the Forsyth County Community Connection, and Hands On Forsyth. When Christy had a free moment she gave it to others in need.

Christy is survived by her two children, Sean and Molly; mother Carolyn Dowie of Cumming, GA; father Don Dowie of Conyers, GA; sister, Jennifer Knight of Conyers; and countless friends that were fortunate to have shared in her life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2009 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 4:00
