Margie Lunsford Powers

Mrs. Margie Lunsford Powers, age 69, of Cleveland, passed away, Thursday, January 01, 2009, at Northeast GA Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Powers was born on August 6, 1939 to the late William Boyce and Vernell Trulove Lunsford in Towns County. She was preceded in death by her sisters Blonde and Eula Mae Lunsford and brother in law James Westmoreland. Mrs. Powers was a homemaker and a member of Mossy Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Melvin Powers, Cleveland; Daughter and Son in law Pam and Gary Ferguson, Cleveland; Step Son Benny Powers, Dahlonega; Grand Son Chad Ferguson, Cleveland; Sisters and Brothers in law Lucille and Harold Hooper; Joyce and Rev. Rondal Garmon; Linda and Grant London; all of Cleveland; Sister Lillian Westmoreland, Cleveland; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Saturday, January 3, 2009 from the Barrett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dale Abernathy, Rev. Donald Fuller, and Rev. Rondal Garmon will officiate. Interment will follow in Mossy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
