Virginia Strickland

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church, for Virginia Irvin Strickland, 81, of, Chestnut Mountain, Ga. Rev. John Batusic will officiate. The family will receive friends at Little and Davenport Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.





A native of Hall County she was the daughter of the late Jess and Maybelle Tanner Irvin. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker, an avid worker and member of Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Lee Strickland, grandson Bryan Strickland and her brothers and sisters.





Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Terrel and Jean Strickland and Mark and Susan Strickland of Chestnut Mountain, daughter and son-in-law, Sheilby and Sammy Stephens of Chestnut Mountain; granddaughters and husbands, Courtney and Ryan Smith of Chestnut Mountain, Misty and Jason Poe of Carnesville, Lacy and William Borum of Carnesville, grandson and wife Elijah and Alison Stephens of Chattanooga, TN grandson Noah Stephens of Chestnut Mountain, five Great grandchildren, Chloe, Andrew, Joshua Smith, Katie and Grayson Poe; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Rod Harnish, Simpsonville, SC, brothers in law Lloyd Strickland of Chestnut Mountain and Lee Smith of FL. A host of other relatives also survive.
