Carrie Sims Brown

Mrs. Carrie (Sims) Brown, age 96, of Highsmith Road, Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:30 pm Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church. Her remains will lie in state at the church from 4 to 4:30 pm prior to the service. The Reverend Dean Bryant, Reverend Chris York and Reverend Alvin Burns will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 pm Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown was born in Banks County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late John William Sims and Alice Laredo Thomes Sims. She was the oldest attending member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Arthur Brown; and a son, Ernest Willie â
