Thomas Lawson

Mr. Thomas (Pete) J. Lawson, age 79, of Flowery Branch, died July 17, 2008.

He was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather. Mr. Lawson would help any body he could. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of Mount Salem Baptist Church. He owned and operated the Spout Springs Superette for 30 plus years. He served as a coach for Flowery Branch Elementary School and the Park and Recreational Leagues for Hall County in coaching football, basketball and baseball. He was very active in the Johnson High School booster club. He loved the Braves.

He was survived by and married to his loving wife of 53 years Rita C. Lawson, son, Shelton A. Lawson of Flowery Branch, son Steve R. Lawson and his wife Gelene of Flowery Branch, and a host of other relatives.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mount Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 6152 Mount Salem Circle, Flowery Branch, 30542. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 P.M. July 20, 2008 at Memorial Park South Chapel. Officiating Rev. Paul Wade and Rev. Larry Peace. Interment Mount Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
