Gerald Wayne Foster

Mr. Gerald Wayne Foster, age 71, of Ball Ground went home to be with the Lord after a 1.5 year-long battle with cancer on Sunday, July 6, 2008. He retired from the AJC with 39.5 years' service, beginning as an elevator operator, finishing as Fleet Maintenance Manager. Mr. Foster is preceded in death by his father, Luther David Foster.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Britt Foster; children, Kay and Mike Richardson, Rick and Shinel Foster; grandchildren, Brittany Richardson, Jared Richardson, Dillan Marshall, Taylor Foster, Tiffani Foster and Rylee Foster; mother, Ruby Foster of Cumming; brothers and sisters, Homer Foster and Marie of Cumming, James Foster and Pat of Cottonwood, CA, Nancy Pollard and Buddy of Blairsville, Rudene Pearson of Colorado Springs, CO, David Foster and Karen of Eatonton, and Phil Foster and Sandra of Ball Ground; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron DeMoss and Rev. Greg Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 8, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
