George Truett Forrester

Obituary Date: Monday, June 9, 2008

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, June, 13, 2008 at Holly Springs Baptist Church for Mr. George Truett Forrester, age 81, of Gainesville. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Strickland, Rev. Dean Bryant, & Rev. Gary Wilson will officiate. The remains will be placed in the church at 1:30pm. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-9 pm on Thursday, June 12th at Ward's Funeral Home. Mr. Forrester passed away Monday, June 9th at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Forrester was a lifetime resident of Hall County and Breezy Acres Farms and a member of Clermont Masonic Lodge#512 F&AM. Mr. Forrester was a WWII Veteran and a lifetime member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Hall County Planning Commission from October 1, 1966 to October 1, 1973 and served as Chairman from 1971-1973. His businesses included Ideal Egg Brokers, Ideal Home & Development, Ideal Jewelry and Cross Jewelers.

Mr. Forrester is preceded in death by his Parents: Herman Mac & Leila Forrester; Siblings: Doris Zane Forrester, Willie & B.B. Farmer, Sara Elizabeth & Harry Davis, Lora Bell & (WM) Marion Payne, Laura Lee & Herbert Hobbs Faulkner. Rosemary & George Washington (Pete) Farmer, Byron (Red) Mitchell & Claudine Forrester, Randol Davis (RD) & Tressie Mae Forrester.

Mr. Forrester is survived by Wife of 61 years Geneva Ramey Forrester of Gainesville; Daughters: Ruth Ann Forrester and spouse Henry E. Liebling of Lawrenceville, Barbara Jean Cameron and spouse John James Cameron of Greenville, S.C.; Son: George Truett Forrester, Jr. of Gainesville; Grandchildren: Ronald Anthony Green and spouse Catherine Mary Claffy Green of Roswell, Darien James Cameron of Greenville, S.C., Genna Ruth Cameron of Greenville, S.C., Brennan Truett Cameron of Greenville, S.C.; Great Grandchildren: Kayla Alexis Bellofato and James Alexander Cameron; and his best special friend Buddy.

He is also survived by siblings Thomas Charles Adams & Mildred Joan Adams; Benson David (Benny) & Linda Fey Forrester; Mose Gordon & Sharon Ethel Forrester; Larry Mac & Shirley Anne Forrester; Harry Knox & Robbie Jean Forrester; Sandra Ann & David Horace Martin; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
