Lanelle Coker Farmer

Obituary Date: Tuesday, May 6, 2008

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, May, 9, 2008 at Candler United Methodist Church for Mrs. , age 84, of Candler Rd. Gainesville. The Rev. Peggy Wages will officiate. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-9 pm on Thursday, May 8th at Ward's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Farmer passed away Tuesday, May 6th at Lanier Park Campus of Northeast Ga. Medical Center following a short illness.

Mrs. Farmer was born April 23, 1924 in Banks County but lived most of her life in Hall County. She was a homemaker and a member of Candler United Methodist Church for 71 years. Mrs. Farmer was the church treasure since the age of 16, was known to many children as "Aunt Nelle", she was a long time supporter of the Methodist Childrens Home, a devoted grandmother, and a sports fanatic. She is preceded in death by Husband Herbert Farmer, Parents Rex & Addie Coker, Brother Quillin Coker, & Sister-In-Laws Elizabeth, Eleanor, and Lea Coker.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Candler U.M.C. 1960 Candler Rd. Gainesville, Ga. 30507 or United Methodist Children's Home 100 Columbia Ave. Decatur, Ga.

Mrs. Farmer is survived by Son Roger Farmer of Gainesville; Daughter Denise Farmer of Gainesville; Daughter & Son-In-Law Deidre & Kevin Spivey of Gainesville; Brother Dennis Coker of Lynnville, Tn.; Brother & Sister-In-Law Ralph & Kathy Coker of Corpus Christy, Tx.; Sisters & Brother-In-Laws RexAnn & Arnold Hulsey of Murrayville and Barbara & Bill Hames of Roanoke, Va.; Grandchildren Samantha Spivey of Hopkinton, Ma., Brenton & Barrett Staley both of Gainesville.
