Rev. Floyd L. Morris, age 73, of Hopewell Church Road, Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 06, 2008 at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Murrayville Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The Reverend Sharon Thompson, Reverend John Dell and Reverend Dwight Woodall will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 PM to 9 PM Friday, March 7, 2008, and also 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 pPM to 9 pm Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the funeral home.
Rev. Morris was a native of Hall County, and was the son of the late Clarence Morris and Cellia (Dodd) Morris. He served in the United States Air Force. Rev. Morris was retired from Hall County as a school bus driver. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Morris is survived by his wife, Mary M. Morris, Gainesville, Ga; son and daughter-in-law, Quint and Brenda A. Morris, Gainesville, Ga; son, Floyd Scotty Morris, Gainesville, Ga; daughter and son-in-law, Gill E. and Scott Morris, Gainesville, Ga; grandsons, Steven Farr and Nathan Farr, also of Gainesville, Ga; granddaughters, Brooke Morris, Gainesville, Ga; Kristen Farr, Gainesville, Ga; Megan Morris, Naples, FL; Brandi Morris and Breanna Morris, Gainesville, Ga; brother, C.E. Morris, Gainesville, Ga; sister, Bernice Allison, Gainesville, Ga; and several other family and friends also survive.
