Jack Foster

Jack Foster, age 69 of Cornelia, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Rabun County on May 06, 1938, he was the son of the late Ira Frank and Blonnie Forrester Foster. He retired from Lee Arrendale State Prison as a vocational instructor. He also was employed with United Community Bank as a Courier. He was a member of B. C. Grant Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a Board of Trustee member, and Sunday School Director for a number of years. He enjoyed spending his time with family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister, Velma Webb; brothers, Robert, Ray, Paul, and Andy Foster.

Surviving are wife, Betty Foster of Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney & Becky Foster of Lula and Mark & Tammy Foster of Franklin, NC; brothers, Donald Foster of Toccoa, Sam Foster and Doug Foster both of Clayton, and Lester Foster of Rabun Gap; sister, Peggy Ramey of Tiger; he is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:30 pm Sunday, December 30, 2007, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Wayne Strickland and Rev. Billy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in B. C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doyal Conley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday. The family is at the residence.
