Ernest G. Caldwell

Mr. Ernest G. Caldwell, age 62, of Dahlonega, Ga., died Tuesday, April 20, 2004 following a sudden illness.

Mr. Caldwell was born in Jackson County, Ga. on November 17, 1941, but lived most of his life in Lumpkin County. He was a grading contractor and was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

He was the son of the late John C. and Ella Stancil Caldwell and was also preceded in death by Brothers: Joseph Wayne Caldwell and James Wilson Caldwell, and a Sister: Kathleen Wright Doscher.

He is survived by his Wife: Glenda T. Caldwell, Dahlonega, Ga., Sons and daughter in laws: Troy and Donna Caldwell, Dahlonega, Ga., Tracy and Julie Caldwell, Dahlonega, Ga., Grandchildren: Jared Caldwell, Brooke Caldwell, and Lydia Caldwell, Sister and brother in law: Louise and Bill Pullen, Gray, Ga., Brothers and sister in laws: Bob and Frankie Caldwell, Dahlonega, Ga., Junior and Linda Caldwell, Dahlonega, Ga., Byrd Caldwell, Dahlonega, Ga., Sister in law: Imogene Caldwell, Dahlonega, Ga., Mother in law: Roberta Thomas, Dahlonega, Ga. A large number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4 P.M. Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Yahoola Baptist Church in Lumpkin County with Rev. Dean Bryant, Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Tony Allison, and Rev. Terry Head officiating. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 3:30 P.M. on Friday. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home all day on Thursday beginning at 12 Noon.
