Noah Gordon Underwood

Noah Gordon Underwood, age 80 of Homer, died Monday, April 4,2005, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on January 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Arthur P. & Veattie Erwin Underwood. He was self-employed and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by daughters, Mary Ann Underwood; sons, Charles Underwood and Roy Underwood; and brother, Eugene Underwood, Luther Underwood and Lee Underwood.
Surviving ar daughters, Mary Lou Anderson of Homer; sons, Ernest Gordon Underwood and Tommy Lee Underwood, Both of Gainesville; brothers, Loy Underwood of Mt. Airy and Charles Underwood of Lula; sisters, Ruby Thompson of Crouse, NC and Mozelle York of Augusta; numerous nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 6, 2005, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Austin Kelly and Pastor Anthony Shore officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends a t the funeral home from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday.
