Fred J. Woody, age 70, of Homer,GA, died Sunday, May 8,2005, at the BJC Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Born in Union County on Jne 23,1934, he was the son of the late Elbert & Lula Towe Woody. He was the owner and operator of Woody's Wrecker Service, and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Woody enjoyed collecting knives.

Surviving are: his wife, Ruby Jo Martin Woody, of the Home; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Dennis Rylee, of Maysville, and Regina and Harold Nash, of Homer; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Tina Woody and Raymond and Shelby Woody of Lula; brother, Buddy Woody, of Gainesville; sisters, Louella Cantrell, of Flowery Branch, and Juanita Sosebee, of Cleveland; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services are at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10,2005, at the McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Duncan and Rev. Swayne Carlan officiating. Burial will follow in the Homer Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday. The family is at the residence.
