Lona Bessie Sullens

Mrs. Lona Bessie Sullens, age 86, of Dahlonega, Ga., died Sunday, August 14, 2005, at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega following an extended illness.

Mrs. Sullens was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, a homemaker , and member of Philippi Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

She was the daughter of the late Lula Bell Grindle and was also preceded in death by Husbands: Riley Sisk and James E. "Babe" Sullens. Her son in law,Barney Bruce passed away one week ago.

She is survived by Daughters and sons in law: Velva Bruce, Dahlonega, Ga., Virginia and Robert Gibson, Dahlonega, Ga., Lucy Baliles, Dahlonega, Joan and Wesley Stephens, Dahlonega, Ga., Sons and daughters in law: Sylvester and Edith Sisk, Dahlonega, Ga., Tommy and Linda Sisk, Dahlonega, Ga., Herman and Frances Sullens, Clermont, Ga., Sherman and Mary Sullens, Dahlonega, Ga. 23 Grandchildren, 35 Great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sullens are scheduled for 1 P.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Rev. Dean Bryant officiating.

Interment will follow in the Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. and all day on Tuesday.
