Fred Samuel Hicks

Mr. Fred Samuel Hicks, age 65, of Cleveland,GA, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30,2005 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Hicks moved to White County in 2002 from Cumming. He worked with the Atlanta Police Department in the early 1960's. He worked several years with the Big Star Grocery Industry, from which he retired. Prior to his death , he was employed with Ingles Markets in Cumming. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Samuel Hicks; mother,Julia Lee Barrlett Smith; brother, Homer Thompson; sisters, Katie Smith & Pearl Brooks.

Mr. Hicks is survived by: his wife, Linda Hicks; son, Travis Ginn; granddaughters, Alex & Ashleigh Ginn; brother & sister-in-law, Lonnie & Dianne Hicks; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra & Bill Vaughn, Brenda Higginbothem, Larry & Steve McMillian; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are planned for 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2,2005 from Alexander's Gateway Chapel with the Rev. Steve Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in the Gateway Memory Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 31,2005 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 1,2005, from 2 - 5 p.m.
