Catherine Bernadette Heying Lancaster

Catherine Bernadette Heying Lancaster, formerly of Mountain View Road, Gainesville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, in Dunwoody following an extended illness.

Mrs. Lancaster was born in Baltimore County, Md., on Sept. 1, 1916. She was the daughter of the late August C. Heying and Emma M. Snyder of Baltimore County; and sister of the late Gladys Phelps of Baltimore. She was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lancaster was married to the late James L. Lancaster, Gainesville, son of the late David Jasper "Jack" Lancaster and Cynthia Elizabeth "Lizzy" Hudgins on Jan. 12, 1946.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Douglas and Kay Long of Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Louise Lancaster Zukerman and Anatol Zukerman of West Newton, Mass.; stepsister, Noreen Bowers of Osceola, Ind.; sister-in-law, Lillian Lancaster of Gillsville and Imogen Whitmire Lancaster, Gainesville; and grandson, Randall M. Long of Catonsville, Md.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
