Hazel Ruth (Peebles) Watkins

Hazel Ruth (Peebles) Watkins, age 84 of Fork Road, Gainesville, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at her residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 1. 2006 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Scott Culpepper will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Watkins was born in Jackson County, Georgia to the late Albert Peebles and Daisy Mae Peebles. She lived in Rome. Georgia until 1987 when she moved to Gainesville. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Watkins.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Laurie Watkins, Greensboro, NC; and David and Jan Watkins, Dacula, GA; brother, Gordon Peebles, Gainesville; grandson and wife, Scott and Stacey Griffith, Rutherfordton, NC; grandson, Hugh R. Watkins, III, Ft. Myers, FL; grandson and wife, John and Amanda Watkins, Raleigh, NC; grandson and wife, Kyle and Jodie Watkins, Cornelia, GA; grandson, Evan Watkins; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Watkins, both of Dacula, GA; great:-grandchildren, Laurie Griffith, Isabella Watkins, David Griffith and Amanda Griffith.
