Jesse Madison Mealor

Jesse Madison Mealor, 93, went home to heaven on Monday, September 1, 2025. During his life, he was a Korean War veteran and an electrician/maintenance supervisor at Standard-Coosa-Thatcher (SCT Yarns) and Jefferson Mills. But “Bro. Jesse” was perhaps best known in the community as the Pastor of Brockton Road Baptist Church. Bro. Jesse is remembered for his love of the Bible; for sharing the gospel through preaching, personal evangelism, his radio ministry on WJJC, and tract distribution; and for his love for the local church. He is also fondly remembered as Granddaddy by his grandchildren/great-grandchildren and by numerous others in his church family.

He is survived by three children, Patsy & Rex Wallace, Brenda & Dennis Brown, and Karl & Jenny Mealor; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eunice Mealor; his parents, Evans and Pratt Mealor; his brother and sisters, Billy Mealor, Millie Vaughn, Mary Lou Bishop, Evelyn Sorrow, and Sue Mealor; and two sons, David Gene Mealor and Donny Ray Mealor.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday at Brockton Road Baptist Church in Jefferson. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Riverside Baptist Church in Maysville, GA with Pastor John Strickland officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons or Brockton Road Baptist Church at 2675 Brockton Road, Jefferson, GA 30549. The family also requests you honor Bro. Jesse’s legacy by attending your own church this Sunday, by praying for your own family, by sharing the gospel with someone else, and by reading your Bible.
