Marioara, aka "Mary" Achim

Marioara Achim a.k.a  Mary Achim,  was born on July 18^th, 1936, in Calacea, a locality on the northwestern part of Romania. Among the 5 children born in the family of Gheorghe and Floare Mateas, she was the oldest.

Since an early age, due to the economic situation of the country, she grew up helping farming the land family owned.  She married Ioan Achim,  in October of 1957. The Lord blessed their marriage with a son, Nelu and three daughters Lenuta, Mary and Claudia. Since early youth, she became a Christian. In her passion for the Lord, she dedicated herself to memorizing scriptures and poems that she would recite during church services. Among some of her passions were cooking, and vegetable and flower gardening.

At the age of 48, along with the rest of the family, she immigrated to the U.S.A in order to reunite with her son and her older daughter’s family.

On Friday morning, August 29^th, 2025, at the age of 89, the Lord called her to her heavenly home. She is survived by, a son, three daughters, 10 grandkids, and eight great grandkids.

The funeral service in his honor is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 6^th, 2025, at the Hamilton Mill funeral home in Buford, GA.
