Nancy Downs Rambin

Nancy Downs Rambin, age 73, of Sautee Nacoochee passed away peacefully surrounded by family August 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was a retired educator in Rockdale, White, and Habersham counties. She taught third grade and worked with multiple grade levels in the Special Education and Gifted classrooms. 

Nancy was a devoted and loving wife; she and Alan were sweethearts at North Georgia College and enjoyed playing cards, traveling, reading, and river time. She thought the world of her two sisters, Becky and Hass, and loved spending time with their families regularly. Reunions in Sky Valley and Shellman Bluff were among some of her most precious memories. Nan’s favorite activities included relaxing with neighbors, family, and friends at the river bend, beach trips with the girls, shopping, and water aerobics. She adored her three sons and cherished every moment with them. The lights of her life were her two grandchildren with whom she made many wonderful memories. It was a wonderful life

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Alan; sons Austin (Dana), Adam (David), and Andrew (Katherine); grandchildren William (4) and Alexandra (20 months); sisters Rebecca (Kevin) Williams and Harriet (David) Ike; 8 nieces and nephews; and 16 Kicklighter cousins. 

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your sympathy in our time of grief. Thank you for your love and support. Nan was our hero and champion, our love for her is eternal. Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel.

Her service will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at Nacoochee Presbyterian Church in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia. The family will be receiving guests at 10:00am with the service to follow at 11:00am.
