Patricia Ann Wilson Hulsey
October 1, 1941 – August 27, 2025
Patricia “Ann” Wilson Hulsey passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at The Lakes
assisted living facility in Gainesville, Georgia, after a long illness. She was 83 years old.
Born in Gainesville on October 1, 1941, Ann was the daughter of DT and Idell Wilson.
She married Dave Hulsey, and together they raised two sons, Tim and Tony. Over the
years, Ann worked as a homemaker, a bookkeeper, and later as a teller at SunTrust
Bank in Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Hulsey, and her son, Tony Hulsey.
Ann’s life was not an easy one, and her journey was marked by struggles that deeply
affected her and thus in turn those around her. While we mourn her passing, we also
mourn love that we hoped to share but never fully received. These are not easy truths to
say, but they are part of our story, and they deserve space too.
Each of us who remains will carry different memories of her—and different emotions.
For some, there is grief. For others, reflection. And for many of us, we will miss what we
never really had, a wonderful and loving mother, a grandmother that we wanted to go
see who loved us because she loved everyone, and who we wanted our grand babies
and great- grand babies to know and love. But there is only the quiet ache of what could
have been and never was. She could have had a house full of love, laughter and joy.
And in the end, she chose not to.
But we choose to move forward. We choose to heal. We hope that with her passing
comes peace for her, and peace for us—the chance to build something stronger, more
loving, and more connected than what came before.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Teresa Hulsey of Clermont,
GA; her daughter-in-law, Robin Hulsey Parks; her grandchildren Amanda Kastner
(Brandon Swindoll), Breanna Whitney Sullens, Cody and Kelsey Hulsey, Bunny and
Eric Herbert , and Jonathan and Jennifer Sargent ; her great-grandchildren Corbin
Sullens, Joshua Kastner, Brooklyn Kastner, Peyton Hulsey, Cayson Sullens, Charlie Hulsey, Kaleb Hulsey,
Remi Hulsey, Reagan Hulsey, Layla Herbert, Bayle Herbert, Gracie Mae Herbert,
Cydney and Felipe Arevalo , Brooklyn Sargent, and London Sargent; and her great-
great-grandchildren Sophia Arevalo and Daniella Arevalo. Her cousin Glenda Martin
Brasell.
A graveside service will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville on Tuesday,
September 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
In this moment of farewell, we remember not just who she was, but also who we
are—and who we want to be, together, moving forward with hope, healing, and love.
