Rufus E. Miller

Rufus E. Miller, age 80, of Toccoa, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

He was preceded in death by parents, Horace and Valda Miller; granddaughters, Jessica Vincent and Lila Reed; brothers-in-law, Buster Comerford and James Harvey. Mr. Miller is survived by his children’s mother, Gloria Miller of Lawrenceville. GA; children, Robert Eugene (Paula) Miller of Carnesville, GA and Rachel (Chad) Reed of Grayson, GA; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Vincent, Andrew Miller, Kylie Miller, Laina Reed, Eli Reed; sisters, Margaret Comerford of Bainbridge, GA and Jan Harvey of Asheville, NC; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Miller was born on October 8, 1944 in Colquitt, GA. He was a 1962 graduate of Miller County High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia in 1966, and a Master’s Degree from Georgia State University in 1971. Mr. Miller retired from American Software after more than twenty years, and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed traveling and photography, and loved spending time with his family. He was an avid GA Bulldog fan but his family was Number 1 to him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Suwanee Methodist Church with Dr. Christopher Alexander officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 3 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
