Phyllis Nan Parker

Obituary Date: Thursday, August 28, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Nan Parker, who passed away peacefully on Thursday August 28th at the age of 80 after a courageous battle with cancer. Phyllis was born on June 20,

1945 in Sugar Hill and graduated from Buford High School in 1963. She worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper at Mary Kay Inc. for 42 years. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16- For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Richard Mooney and Jeanette Mooney Bryant of Buford, Ga. Phyllis was a devoted wife to Bobby Parker for 46 years. She left a great legacy as a dedicated and loving mother to Jamey Mooney (Gary) and Matthew Parker (Elisha).  As Matt says “She was the best mother anyone can ask for and she loved us with all her heart” She was also a devoted step-mother to Kim Sailors (Stacy), Lisa Smallwood (Donald), and Tracy Roberts (Ric).

She had 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Phyllis was a loving sister to Connie Mooney Parker. She also had a sister in-law that she loved as her own Kerri Lawson (Lee). She would always say “Kerri is more like a daughter to me than a sister in law.” Phyllis also had a best friend who meant the world to her Brenda King
who actually married her cousin Wayne King. She had many wonderful family and friends that will have so many wonderful memories of Phyllis.
Phyllis was a woman whose spirit touched so many lives. Her incredible strength, her infectious spirit, and her deep love for her family will always be remembered in our hearts. She always said “Without The Lord, I wouldn’t have the strength to get through anything and I’ve been so blessed.” No matter what battle Phyllis faced in her life, she never complained. We will always have her favorite recipes to remember her by because she loved being in her kitchen cooking and baking. Her favorite cookbooks were Paula Deen and Brenda Gantt but Phyllis always made everything with Love. She is now resting with The Lord and has a brand new body. She will be missed so very much but we will all keep her in our hearts forever.
