Dr. Jon Massey Milford

Dr. Jon Massey Milford, age 76, of Commerce, GA died peacefully at his home on August 26, 2025.  Dr. Milford was born in Commerce, GA to the late Ernest and Everette Massey Milford.  He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce and was a retired optometrist and owner of his own private practice for 30+ years. Dr. Milford was long-time member of the Commerce Kiwanis Club, Commerce Jaycees, Jackson County Industrial Development Authority, and numerous other bank boards and civic organizations.

Dr. Milford is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilson Milford of Commerce; son, Jonathan Milford (Lauren) of Commerce; grandchildren, Connor Milford and Hix Milford both of Commerce; sister, Julie Milford West of Commerce; and sister-in-law, Beverly George (Lawrence).

Funeral services will be at 11am, August 28th at First Baptist Church of Commerce with Rev. Philip Vestal officiating.  Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
