June 14, 1936 – August 20, 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Marie Maney Hubble, age 89, of Buford, Georgia. Helen was born on June 14, 1936, in Hiawassee, North Carolina, to Milus Lowranzy Maney and Clelie Hamby Maney. She entered her eternal rest on August 20, 2025, surrounded by love.
Helen was the youngest of nine children and the final link in a close-knit family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Hubble, and her siblings John Maney, Ferd Maney, Vandora Maney Martin, Milus Maney, Gold Maney, Ella Vee (Vickie) Maney Danopoli, Ernest Maney, and Ruth Maney Wishon.
Though Helen never had children of her own, she lived her life with a wide embrace, sharing her heart freely with nieces, nephews, and friends who quickly became like family. Her niece Charlotte Dixon was her faithful companion and caregiver for the past ten years, walking beside her with patience, love, and compassion. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the laughter, warmth, and music she brought into their lives. Many have memories of spending time with Aunt Helen watching Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and so many other old school shows and movies while snuggled together.
A Life of Music, Faith, and Love
Helen’s love for music was a gift she generously shared. With a guitar in hand and a voice filled with spirit, she often gathered family and friends to sing gospel hymns that lifted hearts and bound loved ones together. She loved entertaining and spending time with loved ones. Music was her ministry, and through it she showed others the joy of faith, fellowship, and family.
Helen was an active member of her church for many years, where she found joy in worshiping God and serving others. Even when she was no longer able to attend services, her faith remained strong and her heart full of gratitude. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a song to lift someone’s spirits. She was quick to help, and quick to grab any able-bodied friend or family member to hang curtains or move furniture around. She carried off golden sneakers better than anyone we know.
Her life was defined by kindness, generosity, and the ability to make everyone feel at home. To know Helen was to be welcomed into her circle of love.
