Bobby Keith Bentley

Obituary Date: Sunday, August 17, 2025

Bobby Keith Bentley went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 17, 2025, at the age of 81.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2025, two hours prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Lakewood Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born in Cullman, Alabama, proceeded in death by his parents J.O. And Gladys Bentley, his sisters Wanda Riddle and Conethia Roby.

He is survived by his twin sister, Betty Kay Bullock. Bob spent the last 43 years in Clermont, Georgia, married to the love of his life, Sherrye Shoaf Bentley.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966, including active duty during the Vietnam War. His time in the service shaped his deep sense of honor, discipline, and loyalty—qualities that carried throughout his life. He was also a faithful member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where he worshipped, served, and grew in his love for the Lord.

Bob spent more than 40 years as a finance manager in the car industry, known for integrity, hard work, and his love of nice cars.

He loved Jesus and his family above all.

Those who knew Bob will remember him as a true “big cut up”—always ready with a joke, or a quick story that left everyone around him laughing and could turn an ordinary moment into a memory.

Outside of work, Bob found joy in the kitchen. He loved to bake, and his homemade banana bread and biscuits became legendary among family and friends. Sharing his food was just another way he showed love and care to those around him.

A proud Alabama football fan—Roll Tide!—Bob brought the same joy and enthusiasm to every part of his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sherrye; his children, Brandon Bentley (Erin), Brittany Bentley Owen (David), and Blake Bentley (Becca); and by his grandchildren, Bentley, Miles, and Merritt Owen, Chase, John Ross, and Adley Bentley. Bob’s legacy is one of faith, laughter, good food, and steadfast love.

“If you want to walk the heavenly streets of gold, you gotta know the password… ROLL TIDE.”

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” His race is run, his joy is complete, and his laughter echoes in the hearts of all who knew him.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine.” -Proverbs 17:22
