Van Sherwood Norris

Mr. Van Sherwood Norris, age 78, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Northside Hospital. He was born on May 15, 1947 to the late Hurshel Norris and Rachel Hammock Norris in Walton County. Mr. Norris graduated from Gainesville High School. He served in the US Army and was a very successful salesman. In his personal life he was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Chip Cranford will be officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Van is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Norris Teasley; and mother-in-law, Sharon Rothgery.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Norris of Braselton, Ga; sisters, Kathy Norris (David) Barrett of Gainesville, Ga, Lori Norris (Derek) Daniel of Bogart, Ga; father-in-law, Barney Rothgery; sister in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Ron Hrivnak; brother-in-law, David Rothgery; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
