Cecil Lamar Pearce Sr., 87, of Hoschton Georgia passed away on August 12th, 2025 surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Pearce, son Cecil Lamar Pearce Jr., his daughter Sabrina Keisler, son in law Matt Keisler, and granddaughters Victoria Pearce and Emma and Macy Keisler.
Cecil was born in Moultrie Georgia on February 5th, 1938 to Franklin and Maebell Pearce.
Cecil served in the Georgia Army National Guard for 39 years working his way up the ranks from Private to Brigadier General of Georgia. He also worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation for 35 years. Upon his retirement from the GDOT he became the President of Roger’s Bridge Company in Atlanta, Georgia.
Cecil was a devout Christian man, loving God and his family more than anything. His family will remember his kindness, wise words, and determination. Their fondest memories were often made at their weekly Sunday dinners where, even at his last moments, he asked, ‘what’s for dessert?’
We will always carry his memory in our hearts. As Cecil is laid to rest we remember God’s promise in Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” May he rest in peace.
A private, graveside service with military honors will be held at Hoschton City Cemetery.
