Clara Estelle Talley

Clara Estelle Talley, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at her residence.

Born February 10, 1934 to the late Hubert and Madge Talley, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  Clara was a 1953 graduate of Dawson County High School and worked at Sweett-Orr for 30 years until her retirement.  She was an accomplished pianist and for many years played in church and for Sounds of Prophecy.  She regularly attended the Dawson County Senior Center where she enjoyed playing games, and she also enjoyed shopping and cooking for her family.  A member of the Church of God of Prophecy, she was also preceded in death by her son, Brian Chastain; and her husbands, Winston Chastain and John B. “Buddy” Rowell.

Surviving are her daughters and son in law, Deborah Rovinelli, Jefferson, Sharon Topping, Dawsonville, Donna and Tom Waters, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Garrett Topping, Savana Waters, Cole Waters, Brittany and Brody Hughes, Travis Chastain; great grandchildren, Landon Hughes, Sutton Hughes, Lincoln Hughes, Mason Chastain; sister, Hilda Chester, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Pastor James Kanady, Rev. Brody Hughes, and Pastor Joe Gaines will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
