Lila Latrelle Turner, age 88 of Cleveland passed away August 9, 2025.
Mrs. Turner was born in Cleveland, GA to the late Grady Hooper and Lucy Farmer Hooper on December 20, 1936. She taught 5th grade for 30 years and following her retirement she was a substitute teacher for 12 years for a total of 42 years all with the White County School system. Mrs. Turner was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleveland having sung in the church choir for 40 plus years and was a faithful and dedicated prayer warrior.
Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by parents as well as her brother and sister-in-law Fay and Gloria Hooper.
She is survived by her husband, James Turner; sons, Todd (Rae) Turner and Tracy Turner; grandchildren, Joe (Jessica) Turner, Jesse (Jacquine) Turner, April (Brayden) Stuart, and Melinda Bright; great grandchildren, Toby (Emily) Turner, Riley Turner, Colt Turner, Ethen Turner, Noah Turner, John Cooper Turner, Reagan Turner, Megan Bright, Landon Turpin
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 3 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Cleveland on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 2 PM with Dr. Phil Weaver, Rev. Dennis Turner, and Rev. Manning Minton officiating. Interment will follow at Gateway Memory Park.
