Junior Sugg

Junior Sugg, age 73 of Hollywood, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Born October 22, 1951, in Winston, North Carolina, Mr. Sugg was the son of the late Spicer Sam Sugg and the late Katie Moore Sugg. 

Mr. Sugg was a caring husband, father, and friend who was always willing to help others when he could. He enjoyed spending time outside working on his trucks, maintaining his yard and lawn, talking with family and friends, and in his younger days was very passionate about practicing Shorin Kenpo karate alongside his friends and weightlifting at gyms and at home. Over the years, Mr. Sugg did work putting up guard railing, truck driving, and was a construction worker for Charles Black Construction where he helped to build numerous schools, offices, and other buildings in north Georgia. Whether you were meeting him for the first time or a longtime friend, he would always find a way to make you laugh and leave you smiling.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sugg is preceded in death by wife Lizzie Sugg, sister Jean Parker, and sister and brother-in-law Joan and Dave Stiverson.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Coty and Jessica Sugg, niece Candy Jones, niece Carol Warner, brother-in-law Charles “Chuck” Hazle, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Howard and Judy Ledford, sister-in-law Virginia Frankum, sister-in-law Janice Ledford, brother-in-law Charles Pittman, and brother-in-law Charles Smith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews from his wife’s side of the family.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM.
