Thomas George Lammers

Obituary Date: Sunday, August 3, 2025

Thomas George Lammers, age 67, of Sautee, Georgia passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 while out for a run on one of his favorite running trails. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Tom was the seventh of fourteen children of the late Larry and Ruth Lammers. Tom was married to Beverly, the love of his life, for 42 years. They were blessed with a son, Zachary Thomas Lammers. Tom was a devoted and proud grandfather to Russell Lammers and Kirk Lammers who brought immense joy to his life. He was excited for the upcoming birth of a granddaughter in September. His grandsons adored the way he made everything fun and nothing brought Tom greater joy than spending time with them.

Tom graduated from Southern Polytechnic State University. He worked in Land Surveying prior to joining Habersham Electric Membership Corporation's Engineering Department where he worked for 30 years. He was proud of his work, and loved meeting people through his work. Tom was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church. He often volunteered at the church in addition to serving others through community projects. He was a friend to all and consistently took the time to care for others. Tom could be best described as one "who is rich in what matters to God."

Tom is survived by his wife, Beverly Black Lammers, son Zachary Thomas Lammers (Tracy Ellen Welch), grandsons Russell Lammers and Kirk Lammers. He is survived by siblings Joseph Lammers III, Lyle Lammers, William Lammers, Lucy Daniels, Pete Lammers, Matthew Lammers, Margaret Conrad, Andrew Lammers, Cecilia Meggs, Maria Clark, Edith Brycelea, Rose Naberhaus, and Michael Lammers.

The family will host a visitation at Hillside Memorial Chapel on Sunday evening, August 10 from 5-7 PM. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Clarkesville on Monday, August 11th at 1:00 PM with interment to follow the Mass at Hillside Gardens Cemetery.
