Mary Estelle Higginbotham

Mary Estelle Higginbotham, age 91, of Flowery Branch, passed away August 2, 2025. She was born in Sugar Hill, Georgia, August 6, 1934, to the late Pearl Cannon and Irene Nichols. She was a member of Christ Place Church. She worked for many years at Georgia Boot Company, and retired from Willow Wood Nursing Home in Flowery Branch where she was a housekeeper. She also volunteered in the nursery at Blackshear Baptist Church for a number of years.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 4:00 PM, in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home, in Gainesville, Georgia. Reverend Dave Channell will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 prior to the service, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mary was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Joe Higginbotham; her son, Kenneth Morris; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gaines & Dorothy Cannon, Herman & Kate Cannon, Albert & Nora Cannon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arline & Clyde Holloway, Mae Belle & Carl Tyler.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Brittany Morris and Jessica Morris; and great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Morris, Autumn Mcwaters, Emily Foster, and Graham Foster. She is also remembered by a number of nieces and nephews.
