Rachel Rider Wilbanks

Rachel Rider Wilbanks, age 85, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on August 4, 2025. She was born on November 21, 1939, in Dahlonega to the late Leon Benjamin Rider and the late Phylis Ferguson Andrews. Rachel was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Charles Rider and Larry Dean Rider.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Rider (Jeff) of Dahlonega; granddaughter, Taylor McCune (Cody) of Clermont; great-grandson, CJ McCune of Clermont; as well as numerous friends and other relatives.

Rachel was nourishing by nature and will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a passion for cooking and was especially known for her famous potato salad. She enjoyed watching game shows, following racing, and playing Rummy. Her warm heart and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Reverend Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
