Joyce Ann Dover Hayes

Joyce Ann Dover Hayes, age 81, of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Born on April 3, 1944, in Clarkesville, she was a daughter of the late Wilborn and Nellie Fay Herring Dover. Joyce was retired from Johnson & Johnson and was a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed numerous hobbies such as, jigsaw puzzles, reading and traveling. She also enjoyed singing and taking voice lessons and was an avid Fox News fan. Joyce loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Hayes; a grandson; a nephew, Torrey Sosebee; and her brother-in-law, Tony Sosebee.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David Hayes (Jill) and Brian Hayes (Christy); 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Dover Sosebee; nephew, Todd Sosebee (Rena).

Funeral services are 2 pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the service hour on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
