Mr. William Buren Stowe age 96 of Martin, Georgia passed away Friday August 1,2025 at his residence.
A son of the late Robert and Anna Adams Stowe, he was born October 17, 1928 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all of his life. He retired from Coats and Clark with a number of years of service. He was a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed farming and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Elrod Stowe, daughter Beverly Stowe Patterson, grandson Paul Ben Patterson III, sisters Viola Brock, Estelle McCurley, Pauline Stowe and Winnie Lee Moore.
Survivors include his grandsons Kurt Patterson of Lavonia and Clint and Renee Canady of Martin; great-grandchildren, Austin Abbs, Clint Canady Jr, Riley Canady, Madaline Patterson, Cole Patterson and Lane Patterson; great-great grandchildren, Callie Canady, Kacey Canady, Maverick Abbs and Oakley Abbs; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2 P.M. at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Marcus and the Reverend Bill Stacey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Bruce Adams, Kyle Adams, Tim Stowe, Jason Stowe, Steve Keeling and James Pace.
