Mr. Donald Ralph Joyner, 90, of Oakwood, Ga., died on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 9, 2025, prior to the service.
Mr. Joyner was preceded in death by his parents Roy W. Joyner Sr. and Ruby Lucile Fourqurean Joyner, and by his brothers and sister Roy W. Joyner Jr., AI E. Joyner and Mary Patricia White.
Mr. Joyner is survived by his sons Jeff M. Joyner (Trish), and Johnathan D. Joyner (Jessica), his granddaughter Kristy N. Joyner-Burgess (Nathan), his grandson Brandon H. Joyner, three great-grandchildren that he cherished, his brothers Dr. Bobby G. Joyner and Ken M. Joyner.
Don lit up the room with his humor and smile everywhere he went and led a full life. Star Basketball record holder at Edgewater High School, Orlando Fl. He was in the US Army stationed in Germany and was on the escort detail for President Dwight D. Eisenhower at the Geneva Conference. He graduated from the Florida State University and his loyalty ran deep wearing FSU apparel proudly. He lived in his favorite place, Helen Georgia along the Chattahoochee River and was the unofficial Mayor of Helen.
Respected and cherished Papa to family with an abundance of love and Trusting God never failed him. Now he is Home, no more pain. Well done, child of God.
