Wanda Sue Taylor

Obituary Date: Friday, August 1, 2025

Wanda Sue Taylor, age 69, of Murrayville, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. After a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, she now rests in eternal peace.

Born on April 30, 1956, in Hall County, Georgia, Sue was the daughter of the late Clinton Stephens and the late Euphemia Hulsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Stephens; her grandson, Trevor Gibson; and two beloved husbands, Charles Ray Taylor and Hoyt Wayne Gibson. Each brought her joy and companionship in different seasons of her life.

She is survived by her cherished dog, Freckles, who was a constant source of comfort and love. Her memory lives on through her daughter, Gloria (Marvin) Lingerfelt; her  beloved grandchildren, Chastity (Colt) Hall and Seth (Lilly) Lingerfelt; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Waylon Hall, Reagan Lingerfelt, and Walker Lingerfelt. She will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

To know Sue was to love her. She was the definition of a true Southern belle—graceful, kind, and beautiful inside and out. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and cared for. You never left her home without being fed—both in body and in spirit.

A devoted Christian, Sue’s faith guided her life. She was a steady light of encouragement and love to all who knew her. Whether she was tending to her cherished garden and flowers, sharing laughter with those she loved, or embracing life’s adventures, she did so with warmth, courage, and gratitude.

Those who had the blessing of knowing Sue will remember her not only for her beauty and class, but also for her strength, unwavering faith, and the way she made every person feel special and cherished.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lance Fuller officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Her legacy of love, joy, and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who were privileged to call her a friend.
