With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Stanley Baker, who departed this life on July 30, 2025, at the age of 79.
Stanley was born on August 22, 1945, in Gainesville, Georgia, to William and Sarah Baker. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Stanley was known for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family.
He was retired and enjoyed spending time at the beach, NASCAR racing, fishing, watching NCIS, and having lunch with friends in Helen, Georgia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nita Baker; his children: Allyson (Barry) Davis, Melanie Clark (Rudy Allen), and Bobby (Beth) Baker; his beloved grandchildren: Kathryn Davis, Robby Davis, Kelli (Justin) Hall, Matt (Olivia) Sanchez, Kristin (Joseph) Hamilton, Mandy Baker, and Emma Baker; his cherished great-grandchildren, Sydney Hall, Ally Kate Hall, Rhett Sanchez, Allyson Hamilton, and Jayce Hamilton; his sister-in-law, Jane (Ken) Belmore; his brother-in-law, Doug Bennett; and nephew Sheldon Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sarah Baker; his brother, Phillip Baker; mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret and Adrian Bennett; and sister-in-law, Betty Thompson.
Stanley’s presence was a steady light in the lives of all who knew him. His life was a testament of love and resilience. His memory will be treasured always.
A celebration of Stanley’s life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Lakewood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the Church Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
