James Howard Farr

Mr. James Howard Farr, age 86, of Danielsville, GA died Monday, July 28, 2025 at his residence.  Mr. Farr was born in Milledgeville to the late Paul and Bettie Zachary Farr.  He attended First Baptist Church of Commerce, was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Social Security Administration with Office of Inspector General.  He attended Georgia Military College Milledgeville and Emory University of Theology.  He was also an outdoorsman loving to do different activities like hiking, horseback riding, and whitewater rafting.  The most important part of his life were his grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Farr was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Jonathon Zachary Farr; and sister, Pauline “Polly” Farr Echols.

Mr. Farr is survived by his wife, Judy Bond Farr of Danielsville; daughters, Sonya Bishop (Brian Justus) and Stacey Hayes (Michael) both of Danielsville; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Justus and Matthew Justus.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM, Friday, August 1 at the First Baptist Church of Commerce with Rev. Philip Vestal and Rev. Ellen Purdum officiating.  Interment will follow in Hudson River Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 11:30 AM until 1 PM.
