Jerry Clyde Standridge

Jerry Clyde Standridge, age 80, of Gillsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Gillsville Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Jerry was born October 24, 1944 in Hall County. He was the son of the late Clyde Standridge and Lena (Sanders) Standridge. He was also preceded in death by his son, Doug Standridge; and his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Donald Wilson

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Standridge; son, Jeff Standridge (Deanna); grandchildren, Lorie Latham (Callaway), Daniel Standrige (Christa), Megan Standridge, Mitch Standridge (Keri), Madison McMahan (Aubrey); great-grandchildren, Blakely Latham, Kenna Standridge, Lakyn Standridge, Ayden Phagan, Maci Standridge, Emma Standridge, Jace Standridge, and Elena Standridge. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

He cherished his beloved wife, Carolyn, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his sons, Doug and Jeff, and he dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was his greatest joy.

Jerry was a man of superior wisdom, unquestioned integrity, and unparalleled patience. His compassion knew no bounds, and his friendship was a gift to many. To know him was truly to love him.

Jerry had a deep love for the Lord and was a faithful member of his church. He lived his life grounded in faith, kindness, and service to others.

He spent many years doing what he loved most—driving a truck. After retiring from Craven Pottery, he continued serving his community by hauling cattle for many local farmers. Tuesdays at the Franklin County sale barn was a treasured routine, where he found joy in familiar faces and honest work.

Jerry’s warm smile, gentle humor, and genuine love for others made everyone feel better just by being near him. His presence was a quiet comfort and his legacy will live on in the lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
