Evelyn Jean Milford, 82, born December 10, 1942, to the late Fowler and Sarah Allen in Gainesville, Georgia made her heavenly journey on Sunday July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Evelyn married Dempsey Milford in 1962 and has been a longtime resident of the Chestatee Community in Forsyth County and a member of Salem Baptist Church. Evelyn loved her church, community and most of all her Lord and her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and farm life.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dempsey Milford. Children, Angela and Charlie Chambers, Troy and Rita Milford, grandchildren, Jason Chambers, Sarah (Kelly) McCormick, Nancy (Corey) Bruce, Rachel (Holden) McNeal, Matthew (Hanna) Milford, great grandchildren, Trevor Butler, Aslyn Chambers, Camden Bruce, Evelynn McNeal, Emma McNeal, Ali McCormick, Timothy McCormick, Ashleigh McCormick, Jack Milford, Emery Milford, brother and sister-in-law, Grady (Lana) Allen, Betty Bennett, Martha Johnson, Dan Allen, Ricky (Vicki) Allen, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Gary Green, Denise Allen, Irene Smith, Wesley Milford, Arthur (Freddy) Milford, Clarissa (Bobby) Miller, Neva (Tony) Reed. A number of nieces and nephews and other family members also survive.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Allen, sister, Mary Green, brother-in-law, Pierce Bennett, and sister-in-law, Joan Milford.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to the caregivers, friends, family and Hospice of Northeast Georgia for all that has been done to support us through the last few months.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Taylor Cole and Rev. Troy Milford will officiate. Interment to follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Matt Milford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday July 29 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to Salem Baptist Church, 6455 Westbrook Road, Gainesville, Georgia 30506.
