Julianne Stone went on to be with the Lord on July 21st. She is survived by her brother, Julian Witherington; son Wheeler Stone; and daughter, Leanne Jones; son-in-law, David Jones; grandchildren, Nelson Jones and his wife Tabitha, along with their daughters, Julianne’s great granddaughters, Annie, Mabel and Pamela; granddaughter and namesake, Julianne Jones and grandson Micah Jones, whom everyone knew was her favorite.
Julianne grew up in Miami Florida. She was the oldest of 5 children. After attending college at Florida State for over a year, she enrolled in secretarial school, where she met her best friend Bonnie on the bus that first day of class. During her career she worked for the Federal Government as a Data Analyst for the Federal Probation office in Downtown Miami. She loved to cook and was asked to include a recipe in the monthly newsletter at work each month. After she retired, she moved to Dublin, GA where she selflessly cared for her mother until she passed away. Julianne continued to bake and cook, catering many bridge luncheons. She also loved serving in the food ministry at every church she attended.
Julianne loved spending time with family and friends, especially over a meal. Losing her hearing made life a little challenging but she always said that she would rather be out with friends and family and miss half of the conversations than home by herself. She moved in with her daughter 15 years ago. Every Friday she enjoyed her dates with her daughter where they would go to breakfast and shopping afterwards (her favorite hobby). She loved her daily calls from her son Wheeler who faithfully kept in touch and visited often.
Julianne was the most positive and hospitable woman, always encouraging and complementing those around her. Her love language was gift giving and loved to give out homemade baked goods or handmade blankets and bracelets.
She had full confidence in her relationship with Jesus Christ and often shared that without Him, she could not have faced the difficulties of divorce, heart surgery, and the loss of her siblings. She was a bright light to all who knew her and will be missed every day.
