Shirley Gazaway Robinson age 86, of Oakwood, Georgia, passed away on July 20, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Ga. surrounded by her loving family and friends following a short illness.
Shirley was born on March 30, 1939, in Dawson County, Georgia, and spent the majority of her life in Hall County. She was known for her strength, kindness, and deep love for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ivan Wehunt; mother, Gladys Hammond; husband, Johnny Robinson; and her son, Nick Gazaway.
Shirley is survived by her son, Vic Gazaway (Linda) of Gainesville; Libby Gazaway, daughter in law of Gainesville; grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah) Gazaway of Marietta, Laura DeLaPerriere (William) of Gainesville, Merritt Gazaway (Mazie) of Gainesville, Victoria Gazaway of Gainesville; great grandchildren, Mackenzie & Brianna Gazaway, Marietta.
The family would like to thank some of Shirley’s very special friends that took such good care of her for so many years. Betty Lance, Karen Bowling, and Tony, Rhonda, and Kane Strickland.
Shirley’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her through her unwavering love, steady presence, and the way she cared for others.
Visitation will take place at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 11:00 until 1:30 with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Hwy SW, Gainesville, GA 30501. Interment will be held at Liberty Baptist Church, 280 Liberty Church Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
